| a formal question for a student's assignment | September 30, 2008 @ 4:43am | Your honor Mr. senator I would like to ask you this question Mr. Chavit Singson once said that your father is a better actor than you he did not mention about a better politician, I would like to ask how could you prove to the Filipinos that you are a good actor yet a good politician. Sir I would be glad to receive your answer and thank you for the time.

| September 30, 2008 @ 7:22am | There is no question that my father, President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, is a better actor than I am. However, I am doing my best to justify the roles that I played in the television and movies. Fortunately, the awards I received such as FAMAS Best Supporting Actor (1995), Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actor (2007) and Golden Screen Award Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role (2008) recognized my talent as an actor in the field of entertainment industry.
As to whether I am a good politician, I believe that it is the Filipino people who could provide the answer. As a public servant, I know I am doing my best to serve. At age 25, I served as Vice-Mayor at the Municipality of San Juan. I was elected as Mayor for three consecutive terms. It was during my tenure that the four-storey San Juan Medical Center and the San Juan Municipal Gymnasium were constructed. It was during my time that San Juan gained the reputation of being one of the most progressive municipalities and the Most Peaceful Municipality in the Philippines. When I was elected as Senator in 2004, I had filed 442 bills and resolutions focused on improving and strengthening the policies affecting our workforce and OFWs and empowering local government units.
I had authored R.A. No. 9347 which rationalizes the composition and functions of the NLRC; R. A. No. 9481 which strengthened the Worker’s Constitutional Right to Self-organization; and R.A. No. 9422 which strengthened the regulatory functions of the POEA.
However, it is my firm belief that it is not so much on the achievements I made as Mayor of San Juan for nine years or as Senator for the past four years, but it is my dedication to render quality public service to the nation that the public would judge whether or not I am a good public servant.

| you are a good person | June 7, 2009 @ 9:40am | | I have lived my youth in San Juan Morales St., and I can say that YOU AND YOUR FATHER are good people. You have served the country and your people to the best you can be which other politicians cant do. You both not give promises to people, but instead you make it into action. You dont use the old politicians game but you show sincerity and humbleness to everyone. I admire you and your father alot. It only shows that no matter what others say bad things about you or your dad...the heart of many Filipinos are still for both of you. So I can say...I know your a GOOD PEOPLE and a servant to FILIPINO. |
