MEDICAL ASSISTANCEJuly 4, 2011 @ 11:06am
Dear Senator Jinggoy,

I am writing this letter for my brother Geovanni Legaspi who was diagnosed with Brain Aneurysm in PGH June 2011, he needs to undergo the endovascular coiling operation immediately to avoid re-rupture that might cause hemorrhage or death, the doctor suggested for this procedure since clipping surgery which affordable surgery is not applicable because the aneurysm was found in the middle tip artery, but this coiling procedure is too expensive as the doctor said it might cost 500-700 thousand for this coiling procedure and we are incapacity for this operation, my brother is just a burger vendor in a bus station we have no other resources to raise fund than the government and charity institution we are asking for any help you could assist us.

Sincerely

Rey

Early Retirement PackageMay 24, 2011 @ 3:02am
Sir,
Greetings!
I am regular employee of a private corporation for sixteen years now. Im planning to opt for early retirement four years from now to engage and concentrate in business of my own. Being the Senate Chairman on Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources, I would like to request your honor if you could review the existing policy on taxes on separation pay for those who want to retire early to engage in another endeavour. As we all know, taxes are being imposed on separation pay for those employees who did not reach the optional and mandatory retirement period. For me this is counterproductive since the separation pay recieved in full could have been used as capital for business or any new undertaking. I hope government should give chance to employees who opt to retire early to receive the separation pay in full free of all taxes. Government should encouraged people to become entreprenuer to help the economy and abolishing taxes on separation pay is a big incentive for us who are contemplating to retire early to engage in business. I hope you could act on my humble suggestion. Thank you very much Senator Jinggoy!

GSIS Loan deducted from Survivorship BenefitsMay 4, 2011 @ 10:25am
Thank you for creating a website which would enable common people like us to air our grievances and probably be answered.

My mother served as a public school teacher for 33 years and died last March 1, 2009 due to hypertension and heart attack. My father filed the claims for benefits entitled to us. Apparently, the surviving children, including I, are already of age. So the only recipient of the survivorship pension is my father. We were stunned to receive a computation from GSIS showing all loans and arrears deducted from my father's benefits. My mom's loan (Enhanced Salary Loan) of P36, 246.67 last Nov 2000 soared to P179,260.76 which according to them remained unpaid till my mom's death. I just wanted to ask the following:
1. Why wasn't there any deductions made on my mom's payroll as payment for the said loan? Isn't it that loans granted by GSIS are automatically collected every month through the teacher's salary?
2. Is it really by law that loans and arrears of the dead member be deducted from the survivor's benefits? Why was it called Survivorship Benefits if everything unpaid by the member be deducted from the said benefit?
3. If dependent children are all of age, they are denied the Dependent's Pension. Isn't it more humane to divert the said pension to whosoever is qualified, in this case, my father?
4. Why would GSIS grant a loan which paying period exceeds retirement age of the member? Was it because they are certain that whatever happens, they will be able to get the loans back with interests and sucharges?
5. What is the mode of computation applied by GSIS to (a.)come up with P179, 260.26 as against P36, 246.67 and to (2.) determine BSP?
6. How is BMP different from BSP?

My father relies much on the pension, which is 50% of the BMP. The huge amount deducted from his benefits affected his finances since he provides for his grandchildren.

I know that those questions should have been asked from GSIS. But any help you can give us could shed light on the plight of my father.

My father wants to get copies of the payroll slips of my mother from 2000-2007 to verify if no deductions have been made on her salary as payment for her loan. This procedure would again be a burden on my father since he is already 64 years.

Again, any help you could accord us will be much appreciated. More power to Senator Jinggoy Estrada!

Changed ScheduleMarch 23, 2011 @ 5:22am
I'm a senior student at West Visayas State University. But I am very sad because I can't attend the graduation day this coming March 26,2011 because it is Saturday. I am a Seventh-day Adventist and we keep the sabbath day or the Saturday holy for us to worship and thank GOD for all the blessings that we had received from Him. Six days for us in a week to do our chores, do our responsibilities wholeheartedly, and spend time with our love ones, but the last day (Saturday) is dedicated for God. I'm hoping that the graduation day will be moved on Friday or Sunday.
Sir, I will graduate with award. This award is dedicated to my my beloved father in replace for the hardship in the farm.
I know that you are a busy man, and you had no time for this little request, but I'm hoping and praying that you will be the answer to my prayer in moving the date.Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it a lot...May God continue to bless you until no more rooms to be filled, so that you can continue your good works.

Chavit SingsonMarch 18, 2011 @ 5:20am
Senator,

I believe that there should be an investigation regarding the anomalies of Chavit Singson especially the millions of pesos that he stole from the people of Ilocos Sur and the killings of his political foes. Please help the people of Ilocos Sur... Thank you very much.

Greetings in the name of St. Thomas Aquinas.

We, the 3rd year political science students from the University of Santo Tomas are having a discussion about the topic Japan-Philippines Relations. In line to this, we would like to ask a few questions about JPEPA. The questions are as follows:

1. What is JPEPA all about?
2. Do you think it is necessary?
3. What will be the effects of JPEPA to the current Philippine government?

We are looking forward into reading about your reactions and opinions about the said topic.
Thank you and God bless us all!!

Sincerely yours,

Senator DrilonFebruary 20, 2011 @ 11:43pm
Sen. Estrada, we are just wondering if Sen. Drilon is siding with Former Ombudsman Marcelo and Former Special Prosecutor Villa-Ignacio? Did he not remember that these two people were appointed during the time former Pres. Macapagal-Arroyo? Hindi po ba balimbing na ang dating masyado nitong dalawa, are they after again for another positions in the government? Masyado naman si Sen. Drilon, he is too obvious na kamping kampi kay Marcelo and Villa-Ignacio kahit inamin na ni Marcelo na nagkamali siya. Sana maging fair sila pareho niyo, at sana makinig sila sa lahat ng side not only on the sides of the persons they want to hear. Is this the way to "daang matuwid?" Sen. Drilon is doing it "in aid of humiliation" and not "in aid of legislation". Kindly help the people to get the right information. Thank you and more power, Your Honor!
