MIRIAM, JINGGOY TOP LIST OF SENATE FILERS Jinggoy Journal - Volume 2 Issue 5 (May 2008)

 Senators Miriam Defensor Santiago and Jose “Jinggoy” Ejercito Estrada lead the pack of hardworking senators of the 14th Congress, filing 454 bills and 46 resolutions and 453 bills and 16 resolutions, respectively, records of the Legislative Bills and Index Service showed.
Senate President Manuel “Manny” B. Villar, jr. filed 259 bills and 30 resolutions while actors-turned politicians Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and Manuel “Lito” M. Lapid have filed 125 bills and six resolutions and 68 bills and 22 resolutions, respectively.
However, Sen. Alan Peter S. Cayetano, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, has yet to author a Senate bill, records of the Legislative Bills and Index Service of the Senate showed.
Records of Legislative Bills and Index Service of the Senate bared that Cayetano was not a principal author or proponent of any of the 2,121 bills filed by senators from July 23, 2007 to march this year.
Cayetano was only co-author of two bills, Senate Bill 1964 or the University of the Philippines Charter of 2007 of Senate Majority Leader Francis “Kiko” N. Pangilinan and Senate Bill 1895 or the Special Financial Assistance to the Family of Police and Military Personnel of Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
Cayetano was not a principal author of any of the 260 Senate resolutions filed by senators and was only a co-author of three, one of them a proposal to investigate the curfew imposed several months ago.
