SEN. JINGGOY (SJEE): Nakikita mo naman ang isang tao, bagamat nagkaroon ng sakit..nanumbalik agad sa trabaho, which is very admirable of him, kahit he keeps on lambasting or criticizing the members of the opposition, including myself and my father. Trabaho niyang protekhan ang kanyang amo, kahit mali ang ginagawa. That is really very admirable of him.
Si Angelo Reyes, hindi niyo mapapatawad?
SJEE: Hindi naman niya matuwid ang kayang departamento, e. Unlike si Secretary Gonzales, kahit papano he has been very dedicated to his job. Si Sec. Reyes para siyang butterfly, palipat-lipat ng departamento.
Are you ready to filibuster?
SJEE: Yes, first time. I would just like to ask basic questions. Ako, I am not an expert on field of energy, but he should be an expert because he is the secretary of energy. Tatanungin ko lang mga basic questions. He should give me the right answers.

On M/V Princess of the Stars tragedy…
SJEE: I am calling for resignation of the head of MARINA (Maritime Industry Authority), Administrator Vicente Suazo and chief of Philippine Coast Guard Wilfredo Tamayo. Unang-una pinayagan nilang bumiyahe ang barko na alam nila na malakas na ang hangin, dapat hindi nila pinayagan. Hindi na natuto ang mga opisyales na ito. Nung 1987, MV Doña Paz, lumubog. Nung 1998, ‘yung Doña Marilyn at nung 1998 Princess of the Orient. At heto ngayon Princess of the Stars. Apat na barko na pagmamay-ari ng Sulpicio Lines ay lumubog sa dagat. At ako’y nananawagan din sa may-ari ng Sulpicio Lines na bayaran nila lahat ang damage na nangyari sa ating mga kababayan, sa kanilang mga pamilya.
At kailangan din sigurong ma-prosecute itong mga may-ari ng Sulpicio Lines for disregarding the safety of their passengers. Hindi na natututo itong mga ito. In a span of twenty-one years, apat na barko ang lumubog at isang barko ang nasunog. Lahat pagmamay-ari ng Sulpicio Lines.
P200,000 each family of victims from Sulpicio Lines…
SJEE: Alam mo, kahit bigyan nila ng pera yan, hindi na maibabalik ‘yung buhay nila. Ang sa akin lang, dapat itong mga may-ari ng Sulpicio Lines ay i-upgrade na ‘yung kanilang mga barko; dahil baka hindi na fit to travel itong mga barko nila. Dapat tingnan muna nila ‘yung kanilang mga barko, inspection-in kung talagang sea-worthy ‘yung kanilang barko. Kasi ‘yung Suplicio Lines has been in this business for decades, I think it’s about time for them to upgrade their facilities.
Calls for investigation…
SJEE: Now that we are on recess, I think Sen. Biazon has already filed a resolution on investigating this incident; we do not have session right now. I think it’s impossible for us, for the Senate to investigate this matter. Mas maganda sana na Senate ang mag-imbestiga para mapatawag natin lahat ng awtoridad na involved.
SJEE: I am also appealing to Mrs. Arroyo to remove the administrator of MARINA and head of Philippine Coast Guard, kung ayaw nilang mag-resign.
